Privacy Policy
1. General
At Skyline Speech, we respect your privacy rights, so we have prepared this privacy policy (our "Privacy Policy") to explain how we collect, use and share your data. By using or accessing the Service (Skyline Speech Website or Applications), you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. We may update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our information practices.
2. Information we collect
When you use Skyline Speech you provide us with information regarding your use of the Service collected by us as you interact with the Service.
When you enter the Website, we may collect your browser type and IP address (a unique address that identifies your computer on the Internet). When you use our applications, we collect your device type, device ID, and IP address. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies." A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows you to deny or accept the cookie feature; however, you should note that cookies may be necessary to provide you certain features available on the Website.
When using our application, you can upload presentations and save audio recordings of your presentations. All voice recordings are stored locally on your device. Voice recordings are only sent to Skyline Speech if the user specifically chooses to upload the speech to their learning portal. Presentation slides can be added through our online form as outlined in our app guide. We store these presentation slides securely for 14 days (to allow time to download the slides) before permanently deleting them from our system.
Users can receive feedback on their speech within the app. For this feature, Skyline Speech uses the IBM Watson Speech-to-Text tool. For more information on data IBM Watson collects, read their report here: IBM Data Responsibility Perspective for Watson Data and AI, and their whitepaper here: Watson AI Privacy, Compliance and Security.
Performance data is processed by the app and stored by Skyline Speech. This includes data on eye contact rating, speaking pace, listenability, hesitation words used and keyword analysis.
We do not share your personal information with third-parties unless it is necessary to offer the Service or required by law.
3. Use of information obtained by Skyline Speech
We may use your email address to send you notifications regarding new services offered by Skyline Speech that we think you may find valuable. Skyline Speech may also send you service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the Service. Generally, you may opt out of such emails.
Users can receive feedback on their speech in the app. This feature is user enabled within the app. The app analyses the audio of the users speech and displays feedback on areas such as pace of voice, eye contact and hesitation words. By using the speech analysis feature in the app, you agree to have certain data collected and process by the app, so that you can be provided with performance results.
Skyline Speech may use or share aggregate or anonymous data collected for purposes such as understanding or improving our applications and data models. This includes, for example, time in any of our apps, time in specific virtual rooms, online course or modules completions, or in-person recorded video or audio sessions.
